by David Harrison? My oldest daughter recently brought it home from school as her library book, and it took me right back to my childhood. I loved this book, and you know what? It's still great. I had to laugh at the reaction of my three children upon learning the "secret" at the end of the first story "The Little Boy's Secret." This is a spoiler, but you can handle it. The little boy has chicken pox and ends up sharing his "secret" with three big, ghastly giants he meets on the way from school to his home.
"Chicken pox?!" my kids exclaimed. "What are chicken pox?" "Gross," the 2 1/2 year old added. "Children, chicken pox are what we call an anachronism. Don't worry your pretty little heads. Modern science has spared you."
